Do you know the Brasapark in Amsterdam Zuidoost? It is a new recreational area draped over the concrete tunnel roof of the A9. The Brasapark was already beautiful and versatile, but now has a special feature: a 125-meter long skate lane. So grab your gear, come and watch, and perform tricks.
Amsterdam Zuidoost has a new challenge for skaters. The skate lane in the Brasapark is located next to metro station Gaasperplas and is suitable for skaters of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
The Course
The course winds like a long ribbon through the Brasapark. With many turns, hills, and other surprising skate obstacles. The skate lane is 125 meters long and consists of 2 intersecting routes that represent an embrace, or brasa. The total area is 1,600 square meters.
Green Skate Paradise
The new track is elongated and low. Because it is so low, it will blend into the greenery. It is the only skate lane in Amsterdam and the design is unique for the Netherlands. In the Brasapark, there were already a pole park and a freerun park. Now there is also a track for skateboarding, inline skating, BMX, and stunt scootering. The new skate lane has zones with obstacles at different levels for 4 skate variants, namely snakerun, pumptrack, street, and bowl. So Brasapark has something for everyone.
Design
The municipality and district Zuidoost designed it together with skaters from the neighborhood. They have closely monitored every detail. The track was built by Nine Yards from Breda, one of the best skate park builders in Europe.
