The students living in the 800 temporary housing units of Student Experience in Zuidas can stay there until July 1, 2027. The location on Antonio Vivaldistraat was originally scheduled to close on August 31, 2026. However, by rearranging the work area for the construction of Parcel J in the Ravel residential neighborhood, the housing units will remain available to students for an entire academic year longer.
Alderman Steven van Weyenberg (Housing): There is a great shortage of student housing, so it is good that after Spinozacampus I and II and Riekerhaven, we can also extend these temporary student housing units. The 800 units will remain available to students for an entire academic year longer. It is also positive for the Ravel neighborhood under development that these students can stay here longer.
Land needed later
The extension of the student housing is possible because the work area in the Ravel neighborhood is being rearranged. As a result, the piece of land on which the student housing units stand is needed later. The dismantling of the housing units will start in the summer of 2027 and be completed in early 2028.
Social rental housing
Two new apartment complexes with social rental housing will be built on this site. From early 2028, the site will be prepared for the construction of the first complex. This is a new step in the realization of the Ravel residential neighborhood. A longer extension of the temporary student housing is therefore not possible.
