The area around the Johan Cruijff ArenA has been designated as a safety risk area from Wednesday, January 28, 12:00 PM until Thursday, January 29, 2:00 AM, ahead of the AFC Ajax - Olympiakos match.
This means that everyone can be subject to preventive searches here. Wearing face-covering clothing and possessing or igniting fireworks is also prohibited. This decision was made by the Mayor of Amsterdam in consultation with the Public Prosecution Service and the police.
Safe proceedings
The Amsterdam triangle takes into account public order disturbances due to recent experiences around European matches and because this match is classified as the highest risk category. There are also indications that Ajax supporters plan to hold an entrada before the match. This may coincide with the arrival of visitors to events at AFAS and Ziggo Dome. The designation of the safety risk area contributes to a safe course of the match.
Leave on time
We ask visitors to take into account the crowds due to various events taking place simultaneously and to leave home on time.
