From Friday evening, June 20, to Saturday, July 12, significant traffic disruptions are expected in and around the city. This is due to the Op de Ring festival, the NATO summit in The Hague, and works on the A10 South and East.
Check here for the diversions and more information about the various closures.
Festival Op de Ring
The Op de Ring festival on Saturday, June 21, is one of the highlights of Amsterdams 750th anniversary. To make the festival possible, a large part of the A10 Ring and several streets in the city will be closed from Friday evening, June 20, at 9:00 PM until Sunday afternoon, June 22, at 3:00 PM. Are you coming to the Op de Ring festival? Then come on foot, by bike, scooter, or possibly by public transport. Check the public transport planner before you leave. More information can be found at opdering.amsterdam.
NATO Summit 2025
Due to the NATO summit on Tuesday, June 24, and Wednesday, June 25, in The Hague, we also expect severe traffic disruptions in Amsterdam. The world leaders will be transported from Schiphol to The Hague via a closed route, a so-called corridor. One or more lanes on the A5, A4, A44, and N44 will be closed. Preparations will already begin on Sunday afternoon, June 22. The major traffic disruptions will last until Friday, June 27. More information can be found at rijkswaterstaat.nl.
A10 South and East closed for 16 days
Even before the last world leaders have taken off, work on tracks and roads will resume. From June 26 to July 12, the A4, A10 South, and A10 East will be almost completely closed towards A1 Hengelo and A2 Utrecht. Until August 17, fewer trains will run via Amsterdam Zuid station. The metro will operate on a modified schedule between July 12 and August 25. Work is being done on the widening of the A10 South and the renewal of the station. For more information, visit zuidas.nl.
