Do you want to brighten up your street with a facade garden? You can have a facade garden installed for free at your house. And you can now get a plant package for a small fee. This way, you make your neighborhood greener and more beautiful.
In honor of 750 years of Amsterdam, residents can now order a plant package with colorful blooms for only € 7.50 instead of € 73.95 when they apply for a facade garden.
City pass holders pay € 2.50 and receive a free bag of soil love: a natural plant food that improves the soil and helps the facade garden grow healthily.
Whats in the plant package?
The package contains 11 organic, chemical-free perennials that will remain beautiful year after year. Choose a variety that suits your situation: sun, partial sun, or shade.
How does it work?
- Apply for a free facade garden and check that you want a plant package.
- The municipality will install your facade garden.
- After installation, you will receive a link to order the plant package.
- The package will be delivered to your home and can be planted immediately.
While supplies last
The plants are carefully selected by Amsterdams Sprinklr. There are 750 packages available, of which 250 are for city pass holders. The action runs until October 27, 2025, or while supplies last.
The package is offered by Amsterdam Weerproof, an initiative of the municipality of Amsterdam and Waternet that brings together residents, businesses, and governments to make the city more climate-resilient.
More green in the city
Facade gardens make Amsterdam greener and more beautiful, provide cooling, improve water drainage, and help the city better withstand extreme weather conditions. They also attract birds and insects. Applying for a facade garden is free.
