Environmental Service Veluwe intends to establish itself in the new Safety Center at Matenpoort. For this purpose, the municipality of Apeldoorn and the environmental service signed a letter of intent on 12 February. The municipality is developing, together with Safety Region North and East Gelderland (VNOG), a central fire station and the VNOG headquarters there.

“A good match,” says alderman Nick Derks about the new tenant of the Safety Center. “I am pleased that Environmental Service Veluwe (ODVeluwe) wants to be part of the Safety Center from the start. It is great that in this way we can strengthen cooperation between organizations at the intersection of safety, resilience, and health. This contributes to Apeldoorn as a City of Safety.”

Development of the Safety Center

With the letter of intent, the municipality and ODVeluwe express that they want to rent space in the Safety Center on the fourth floor of the building under agreed conditions. The plans will be further developed in the coming period. The goal is to make optimal use of the location, the facilities in the building, and the central position.
