At De Ambacht on Molenstraat Centrum 1, a temporary location for winter shelter for homeless people will open on January 19.

When the perceived temperature is 2 degrees Celsius or lower, the Salvation Army offers winter shelter at Omnizorg. There is not always enough space to accommodate everyone who sleeps or stays outside during the cold winter months. The temporary winter shelter at De Ambacht will open if the spaces at Omnizorg are insufficient.

De Ambacht offers space for a maximum of 50 people per night. The winter shelter opens only during extreme weather or winter weather with a perceived temperature of 2°C or colder. If the winter shelter at Omnizorg does not have enough space, this shelter location at De Ambacht will open.

The winter shelter is only open in the evening and night, from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. If the perceived temperature is -10°C or colder or during extreme weather, the shelter can be open all day. Staff from the Salvation Army provide guidance and security. This temporary location will be in use until April 1 at the latest.
