On Tuesday evening, January 13, the third Climate Café of Apeldoorn will take place at ACEC. We will continue the conversation with Apeldoorn residents about the existing Climate Adaptation and Nature Implementation Agenda 2024-2027. This is a follow-up to the first two Climate Cafés about a climate-resilient, green, and nature-friendly Apeldoorn held in 2023. Will you join us?
During the first two Climate Cafés, the municipality worked with residents on questions such as: how can we make our environment greener, more water-resistant, and more nature-friendly to prepare for climate changes? What is the municipality already doing, and what can residents do themselves to increase greenery? Based on answers and ideas, the Climate Adaptation and Nature Implementation Agenda 2024-2027 was established. Now, halfway through, the municipality shares interim results. And you can contribute ideas for the coming two years and the long term.
What is on the program?
Alderman Danny Huizer will open the evening. Then we will discuss interim results from the implementation agenda. An important topic is how we deal with the green-blue main structures and the connections between them in Apeldoorn. Green refers to large green areas such as parks, forests, rows of trees, and nature reserves. Blue refers to streams and springs running through Apeldoorn.
Together with you, we look ahead to the next two years and the period after the implementation agenda. We will also discuss what you as a resident can do to make your own garden and immediate surroundings greener and what the municipality of Apeldoorn can do to make this easier and more attractive.
Why are we doing this?
Climate adaptation, biodiversity, and greenery are familiar topics for the municipality. As a green municipality in the Veluwe region, we find it important to make our environment climate-adaptive and nature-inclusive. This is also stated in our Environmental Vision. In recent years, we have worked on this together with our residents. Therefore, we reflect together to see what we need to achieve our goals.
