Entrepreneurs in Arnhem can receive priority when the Municipality of Arnhem procures goods and services. They only need to register in the Arnhem Supplier Portal, which is now open. Entrepreneurs can also register there as soon as the municipality is looking for a supplier for a contract. Local procurement is more sustainable and also strengthens the local economy. This priority only applies to procurements that do not require European tendering.
Good news for entrepreneurs
“This is good news for our Arnhem entrepreneurs, especially in the year we are the SME city of the Netherlands,” says Alderman for Economy Nermina Kundić. “Local procurement is better for the environment and society. It results in less transport and thus less emission of harmful substances. It also helps local entrepreneurs and creates more jobs close to home. Local entrepreneurs also know the city and can quickly respond to current developments.”
More emphasis on local procurement
“Last year we updated our procurement policy,” explains Alderman for Operations Maurits van de Geijn. “We now place much more emphasis on local procurement, social return, diversity and inclusion, human rights, sustainability and animal welfare. This Supplier Portal is therefore a logical consequence.”
Register via Entrepreneurs Point
Entrepreneurs in Arnhem have meanwhile received information about the Supplier Portal and how to register. From the moment they are registered, they receive priority in procurement assignments from the municipality. Entrepreneurs who have not yet registered can still do so via the newly opened Entrepreneurs Point.
The Entrepreneurs Point offers entrepreneurs one clear point of contact for all entrepreneurial questions. It prevents entrepreneurs from being referred from desk to desk. Through quick, personal and accessible support, the Entrepreneurs Point helps entrepreneurs better on their way and contributes to a strong entrepreneurial climate in Arnhem. Registration for the Supplier Portal can be done via this Entrepreneurs Point.
