The Arnhem Energy Savings Fund is open for applications as of November 3, 2025. The Municipality of Arnhem is providing €5 million over three years. Owners or tenants of commercial or social real estate can apply for a loan to make their properties more sustainable through energy savings, generation, and storage. The loan terms, such as interest rate and repayment period, are more favorable than standard lenders, facilitating investments in sustainability.
Why favorable?
The loan amount ranges from €5,000 to €150,000 with an interest rate of 2.5%*, and a maximum repayment period of 15 years. For loans up to €30,000, the municipality covers the closing costs of €1,500.
Application summary
The application consists of two steps. The Municipality of Arnhem first assesses the application based on the intended measures, cost substantiation, and work schedule. If approved, a referral is made to the Housing Stimulus Fund (SVn). The loan application, including financial assessment, takes place at SVn.

Discussions with companies and social institutions revealed a need for financing sustainability measures. The Municipality of Arnhem aims to support companies and social institutions in making their real estate more sustainable, contributing to climate goals.
