The Wortels self-harvest garden in Breda is taking an important step towards a new location in the Markdal. On lands at Koekelberg near Ulvenhout, space has been found for a sustainable continuation of the initiative. An environmental permit has been granted for the development.

Alderman Peter Bakker (nature development): “The Markdal is an area where we work on nature, water, and landscape. It is great that a place has been found here for a unique initiative that connects people with their environment. Wortels in Breda fits within nature development and offers space for people to participate in a form of circular agriculture focused on more biodiversity. This also adds value to what we want to be as Breda National Park City!”
