On Friday, March 13, all partners signed a cooperation agreement. This is the seventh of eight agreements signed by Deputy Marc van Caldenberg to support neighborhoods that need a helping hand. With a long-term collaboration, we will work together with all partners and the residents of Pottenberg and Nazareth to make the neighborhoods more livable, safer, and more social. This way, we build a sustainable and strong community where children have opportunities and can grow up safely. A neighborhood where everyone can participate,” said the deputy.

In the new youth center on Silexstraat, the municipality of Maastricht, the Province of Limburg, Envida, Mondriaan, Servatius, Trajekt, and Woonpunt signed the cooperation agreement.

10 million for neighborhood and village approach

The Province of Limburg is investing a total of 10 million euros in the Area-Oriented Neighborhoods and Villages Approach, aimed at structurally improving livability and social security in eight locations. These are: Kerkrade-East, the Vastenavondkamp neighborhood in Blerick (Venlo), Heerlen-North, the Maastricht neighborhoods Nazareth and Pottenberg, Donderberg in Roermond, the Offenbeek neighborhood in Reuver (Beesel), Geleen-South, and Vaals. Because every neighborhood is different, the approach remains tailored. Plans are made in consultation with residents to fit the environment and the people living there.
