Breda sees opportunities to add 29 extra pitches at 7 existing caravan sites. This is the result of a study started in 2023. This fulfills the 2023 commitment to significantly increase the number of pitches during this administrative period.
In the 2026 Budget recently adopted, the city council allocated extra funds for this. The new pitches are included in a single joint land exploitation. The executive board has submitted this land exploitation to the council so that the plans can be realized.
Expansion at seven locations
The new pitches will be added at the following locations in Breda: Korte Raamstraat (5 spots), Rijnauwenstraat (3 spots), Edisonstraat (2 spots), Hamdijk (4 spots), Emerweg (4 spots), Boterbloemstraat (Prinsenbeek, 5 spots), and Jacob Catssingel (6 spots). For each location, careful research was done on how the expansion can be spatially and ecologically integrated.
Alderman Arjen van Drunen (housing): “I am glad that we can now realize these necessary extra pitches. With this decision, we want to take a new path with the caravan policy. This expansion is an important step to provide caravan residents in Breda with a suitable place to live where they feel at home. This way, we contribute to an inclusive and livable municipality of Breda.
