During the inspections, attention was paid to fire safety, building requirements, compliance with permits, sales bans, and the import of excise goods. There was also a check on the sale of tobacco products, which has been prohibited in regular stores since July 1, 2024. Furthermore, there was extra attention for (foreign) medicines, which cannot be sold without the correct permit or leaflet.
Illegal Vapes, Medicines, and Tobacco
In Breda, over 520 illegal vapes were found, which were seized and destroyed by the NVWA. The relevant shopkeepers received fines for this. Additionally, foreign medicines without a Dutch leaflet, tobacco products, and glue boards for pest control were found at multiple locations. These products were also seized and destroyed.
