Park Kesteren in the Haagse Beemden was festively reopened today (March 11). With dance workshops on the new Urban Dance Ground, playing children, and plenty of social interaction, the neighborhood took possession of the renewed park.

Together with children from the neighborhood, alderman Jeroen Bruijns danced on the new Urban Dance Ground. This officially opened Park Kesteren as a place to play, exercise, and meet each other.

The park was outdated and no longer met the wishes of the neighborhood. Residents raised concerns and presented their plans to the city council. The council then made an additional 300,000 euros available to redesign the park together with the neighborhood. In collaboration with residents, Meeting Center De Sleutel, volunteers, and organizations such as Grote Broer and Grote Zus, the park was subsequently renewed.
