The pilot traffic measures in Prinsenbeek start on December 8. The associated traffic decision will be officially published on Friday, November 28, including the Response Note to the received objections. This information is also visible from today via the Municipality of Bredas website. The pilot is set up to improve the livability, safety, and accessibility of Prinsenbeek.
Traffic research shows that about half of the traffic in and around Prinsenbeek consists of through traffic without origin or destination in Prinsenbeek. This traffic causes daily congestion and unsafe situations, especially during the morning rush hour. By implementing targeted measures, this traffic pressure is attempted to be reduced. The traffic measures mean that on weekdays between 7:00 and 9:00 AM, Leursebaan, Markweg, Halseweg, and Strijpenseweg are closed in both directions for vehicles without exemption. Controls are carried out with cameras. The first two months serve as an adjustment period. After those two months, the fine is 120 euros, excluding administrative costs.
