The Municipality of Breda has received multiple reports that the rainbow path at the Chassé Theater becomes slippery when it rains. Therefore, we are temporarily adjusting the path: today, a team of street workers is turning the stones over so that the rougher side is on top for the time being. This provides more grip and reduces the risk of slipping.

We deeply regret that this is necessary, but safety is always our top priority. The current stones were chosen for their strong protective layer, which keeps the colors looking good for a long time. Unfortunately, this layer becomes too slippery when wet.

Temporary Rainbow Path

Because the stones have been turned over, the rainbow colors are temporarily not visible. As soon as it is dry enough, we will create a temporary rainbow path with road paint. This ensures that the municipality continues to convey the message of inclusion and diversity.

Meanwhile, we are working on a structural solution and will ensure that by early 2026 a safe and clearly visible permanent rainbow path will return.
