Today, caretaker minister Mona Keijzer and Paul Depla – in his role as chairman of the Improved Breda alliance – signed administrative agreements in which the government promises a contribution of approximately €30 million. The funds are intended for the construction of 3,861 homes and significant investments in the livability of focus neighborhoods in Breda.
The application was made by the Improved Breda alliance, in which the municipality collaborates with housing corporations, healthcare and educational institutions, and welfare organizations. Together, they are committed to a multi-year, neighborhood-oriented approach that contributes to equal opportunities for all residents of the city. With this boost, not only are bricks being moved, but work is also being done on strong neighborhoods where people can develop, meet each other, and feel at home.
Coen Michel, director of Improved Breda: “This contribution helps us turn plans into action. Improved Breda is precisely for these kinds of challenges: where partners take responsibility together for strong neighborhoods and equal opportunities. In projects like Gasthuisvelden and Hoge Vucht, all of this comes together.”
