In Breda, education, government, entrepreneurs, and residents have been working closely together for years on an important mission: preparing our city for the future. The Urban Living Lab Breda (ULLB) plays a special role in this. It is the place where students and researchers do not sit in a classroom or behind a laptop but work right in the city. Ideas are tested in neighborhoods, and residents directly participate in solutions that affect their lives. Because this approach yields great results, the Municipality of Breda, Avans University of Applied Sciences, BUas, De Rooi Pannen, Curio, and the Netherlands Defence Academy have decided to extend their collaboration by 4 years.

The past period demonstrated how powerful this collaboration is. In total, 967 students participated in various projects that have a direct impact on residents and neighborhoods. This included 738 vocational students and 238 higher education students who worked together with neighborhood residents on concrete solutions for current issues.
