In Breda, education, government, entrepreneurs, and residents have been working closely together for years on an important mission: preparing our city for the future. The Urban Living Lab Breda (ULLB) plays a special role in this. It is the place where students and researchers do not sit in a classroom or behind a laptop but work in the heart of the city. Ideas are tested in neighborhoods, and residents directly participate in solutions that affect their lives. Because this approach yields great results, the Municipality of Breda, Avans University of Applied Sciences, BUas, De Rooi Pannen, Curio, and the Netherlands Defence Academy have decided to extend their collaboration by four years.

The recent period has shown how powerful this cooperation is. In total, 967 students participated in various projects that directly impact residents and neighborhoods. This involved 738 vocational students and 238 higher professional education students working together with neighborhood residents on concrete solutions for current issues.
