The emergency regulation for the days around and during the NATO summit has been adjusted in several respects. With the further development of the program for the international summit being held on June 24 and 25 at the World Forum, several matters are no longer necessary or needed to be arranged. Mayor Jan van Zanen of The Hague has today informed the municipal council about the replacement emergency regulation.

Involved residents and entrepreneurs have already been informed about the changes in the adjusted emergency regulation. A new restricted area has been added around a hotel on Plesmanweg. This area will be closed from Sunday, June 22 at 12:00 PM until Thursday, June 26 at the latest 11:00 AM. Just like in the areas previously announced in the emergency regulation, residents can always access their homes through access control, and necessary visits are also possible after registration and verification.

Furthermore, the restricted area around hotels on Zeestraat is smaller. This area will be less restricted on the side of Mauritskade, allowing access to the fitness company. The last adjustment to the emergency regulation concerns the northern part of the Haagse Bos due to a dinner at Huis ten Bosch. The closure time will start one hour earlier: on Tuesday, June 24 at 4:00 PM and will last until at least Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Here too, residents can access their homes and continue to use their vehicles.

For the NATO summit, heads of state, prime ministers, ministers, other guests, and many journalists from around the world are expected in The Hague. In total, around 8,500 people will attend. It is clear that such a large summit comes with a package of security measures that causes inconvenience. Social and economic traffic must continue as much as possible. Therefore, safety partners are closely monitoring where which measures are necessary regarding the safeguarding of safety and the interests of residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors to The Hague. Tailored solutions are applied as much as possible.
