The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management is processing an application for a temporary area with airspace restrictions. These restrictions were requested by the Dutch Police as part of a pilot project where the police want to use a drone to quickly provide emergency responders with a clear view of accidents or other emergencies.

Area

The restrictions are focused on an area of approximately 20 kilometers around the Nijverdal police station and ensure that the police can safely deploy the emergency drone. The airspace restrictions are kept as small as possible to minimize the impact on other air traffic. Specifically, we aim to prohibit other air traffic within an area between 90 (300 feet) and 150 (500 feet) meters altitude.

Internet consultation

In preparation, the ministry is conducting an internet consultation until January 30, 2026. This consultation focuses on questions surrounding the temporary airspace restriction. These questions can then be included in the application needed for this.
