On Wednesday, February 4, the official voting aid MijnStem Deventer will go live. This makes Deventer one of the first municipalities in the Netherlands to launch an online voting aid ahead of the municipal elections.

In exactly 50 days, the municipal elections will take place on March 18. In the run-up, the municipality of Deventer wants to clearly and accessibly inform residents about the positions of the participating political parties. MijnStem Deventer can help with this. Research shows that more than half of voters inform themselves partly through a digital voting aid.

Tip from the Mayor

“Today, in 50 days, we will elect a new municipal council. As residents, we also determine the direction for our city and villages,” says Mayor Ron König. “That is why it is important to carefully consider which party you want to vote for. You can do this by reading party programs, attending public debates, and using MijnStem Deventer.”

Statements

The voting aid consists of a number of clear statements based on the party programs of parties participating in Deventer and a citizen consultation that investigated which themes are important to Deventer residents. After filling it in, participants gain insight into their position within Deventers political landscape and see their opinion compared to that of political parties.

Go-live

On Wednesday, February 4, Mayor Ron König will officially put the voting aid into use, in the presence of Deventer lead candidates who will fill in the voting aid on site. It will also be announced where MijnStem Deventer can be found.
