In Deventer, we want everyone to feel safe and welcome. The campaign Are you okay? draws attention to (sexual) transgressive behavior and the importance of looking out for each other. A simple question – are you okay? – can already make a difference.
On Thursday, January 15, the campaign Are you okay? was launched. On the Brink, several scenes were played by actors on Thursday afternoon clearly showing (sexual) transgressive behavior. Municipal employees spoke with the public to ask what they would do if they see this or experience it themselves.
Unfortunately, (sexual) transgressive behavior still occurs far too often without the perpetrator being confronted. The victim often blames themselves and then does not report it. This keeps the problem invisible.
Together with Rutgers (expertise center for sexual health), the Center for Sexual Violence, the Police, educational institutions Saxion, Aventus and the Zone College, COC Deventer, Royal Horeca Netherlands, hospitality companies, sports institutions and Raster, we show that (sexual) transgressive behavior is not okay.
