Expansion of housing location on the northwest edge of Bathmen

Developer BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling wants to expand its housing location on the northwest edge of Bathmen further west. This means that possibly 20 to 25 additional homes can be built, and that the new construction will logically connect better to the existing village edge. The mayor and aldermen of Deventer propose to the council to approve this expansion. 

In 2022, the municipality, in cooperation with the residents of Bathmen, drew up the Area Perspective Village Edge Bathmen. This includes the land of BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling as one of the four locations along the village edges of Bathmen where approximately 500 new homes can be built in total. The housing location of BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling lies between Deventerweg and the railway line. 

The original housing location 4 has space for a maximum of 150 homes. With the expansion, possibly 20 to 25 extra homes can be added, and the homes can be better distributed over the entire area. This creates more space for greenery and water. There is also more room for varied housing types, serving more target groups. BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling was already the owner of the piece of land now added. 

Because the expansion location is not in the Area Perspective, BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling has consulted the residents of Bathmen in recent months. Among others, there were talks with immediate neighbors and the Housing working group of the Bathmen Interest Association, and two information meetings. No objections to the expansion emerged. 

Due to the expansion, the new construction location at the entrance of the village from Deventer better connects to the buildings on Bathmense Enk III. The expansion will also adhere to the principles previously established in the Area Perspective. Specifically, this means that the existing hedge will remain to preserve the green village edge, and the walking route will be incorporated into the plans. Also, most homes on Deventerweg must face the road, maintaining the village entrance appearance. 

The municipal council will discuss the expansion of the housing location on February 18 and March 4 (subject to change). On March 11, the municipal council will decide (subject to change).
