Residents of Ede can now participate in a new campaign to make their homes and gardens more sustainable. The mascots Eddy & Eda provide accessible advice and practical tips. The campaign kicks off with a calendar full of practical, seasonal tips for a greener Ede. In the coming months, the campaign will visit various neighborhoods. Additionally, two new subsidy schemes are available to get started concretely.
Eddy & Eda: The mascots of the climate transition
Eddy and Eda are doers, not talkers. They show that sustainability is easy and everyone can make a difference. They share examples from Ede and offer practical tips on:
- saving energy and sustainable heating
- green gardens and cooler streets
- smarter water and rain management
- comfortable and affordable living, now and later
Free calendar with monthly tips
The first action in the campaign is the launch of a calendar with simple, monthly tips that fit daily life. Residents easily discover what they can already do: from small energy-saving actions and greening gardens or balconies to steps towards a more sustainable home without gas. No complicated plans, but concrete tools to get started right away.
In the coming month, 16,000 households in Ede will receive the calendar. Additionally, free copies are available at the Energieloket Ede for residents who want to pick them up.
Residents of Ede are already doing it: 1,000 insulated homes in the past period
Many residents have already started with sustainability. To give residents even more opportunities, two new subsidy schemes have recently been opened. Residents who start insulating with natural materials (biobased) can receive 750 euros subsidy. Additionally, residents who have difficulty paying their energy bills can receive a subsidy for hydraulically balancing their central heating installation, which can reduce gas consumption by 15% annually.
Get started!
The Energieloket Ede and the municipality offer practical support for every sustainable step. Residents can get free advice and information about national and municipal subsidies and loans. The Energieloket is open at Boogstraat 11, Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00. See here(Links to an external website) for more information about the campaign.
