Creative youths in the Municipality of Ede will soon have the opportunity to apply for financial support for their cultural projects and ideas. With the Impulse Youth Culture subsidy scheme, the municipality aims to strengthen and renew youth culture. This subsidy, made possible by a national contribution (SPUK), is intended to encourage young people between the ages of 14 and 27 to actively participate in cultural activities.
Alderman Karin Bijl (culture) is enthusiastic about the scheme: “To all young creators and initiators in Ede, I say: submit your ideas and help elevate youth culture in our municipality to a higher level!”
Successful Previous Initiatives
Previous subsidies have already enabled various inspiring projects. For instance, the Ede music initiative In The Band offered young people between 14 and 27 the chance to gain experience playing in bands, guided by experienced musicians. The initiative LaConecta organized events where hip-hop and youth communities come together through performances and in-depth discussions. Fissa has also set up a series of popular parties for youths up to 16 years old.
Cultural Activities
The scheme supports cultural activities in which young people are actively involved in their free time, such as creating, practicing, or performing art and culture. Young people can also apply for subsidies for other forms of cultural participation, such as organizing events by and for young people, strengthening the cultural identity of young people, hiring coaches, exchanges with other organizations, and improving the accessibility of activities.
Applications
Individual applicants can receive up to € 5,000, while (social) organizations can apply for up to € 25,000. For 2025, a total budget of € 200,000 is available. Subsidy applications are processed in order of receipt.
Activities must take place in the Municipality of Ede and be completed before December 31, 2025. Applications can be submitted until October 1, 2025. More information about the scheme, the conditions, and the application form will be available on the Municipality of Edes website next week.
