The municipality has signed an agreement with entrepreneurs from the Kruisstraat and Woenselse Market to collaborate on a vibrant and multicultural area, with a diverse offer and a pleasant atmosphere. On Thursday, June 26, the signatures were placed under an action plan for this area during a well-attended festive occasion at the Woenselse Market.
Councilor Mieke Verhees: “When you join forces and collaborate, you make a difference in the city. This is how we do it in Eindhoven, and this is also the case here at the Kruisstraat-Woenselse Market. We all want the same thing: to strengthen a diverse and vibrant area where people like to come. Where you find products and dishes that you wont find in other shopping areas. And of course, an area where people enjoy living. A unique piece of Eindhoven.”
Chairman Danny Megens (BIZ Kruisstraat-Woenselse Markt) adds: “We notice that together, with positive energy, we can achieve a lot. We see the uniqueness and beauty of our area and want to strengthen this in the coming years.”
Actions
The deal includes agreements about the quality and diversity of the offer. Additionally, more agreements have been made to ensure that it is pleasant for people to be in the area.
The agreements in the deal have been translated into actions. Some of these actions are already being implemented, while other action points are still being developed. The parties ensure that they allocate capacity for this and collaborate with each other. The deal is not a tightly sealed plan for three years, but a starting point. The intention is that there will be a lasting commitment to the Kruisstraat and Woenselse Market. Other partners can also join.
Partners
Since January 2023, there has been a Business Investment Zone (BIZ) Kruisstraat-Woenselse Market for entrepreneurs. Property owners have recently organized themselves. They also find it important to be part of this deal. The role of residents will also be further shaped.
