Woonbedrijf and the municipality ensure that a temporary pavilion for neighborhood meetings will be established at the Kop van Blaarthem. This collaboration maintains a place for residents during the construction of 400 homes on Humperdincklaan. The municipality provides a subsidy of over 157,000 euros to Woonbedrijf. This covers half the costs, with Woonbedrijf paying the other half and becoming the owner of the pavilion. A new space for neighborhood meetings will become part of this new residential complex.

Alderman Mieke Verhees: Many homes will be added in Groots Gestel. This is exciting for everyone. The priority is that living in the area remains pleasant. Therefore, we are creating the much-needed places where people can meet. Even during the transition period, it is important that everything residents have built up can continue.

Director Roy Beijnsberger of Woonbedrijf: Groots Gestel will change drastically in the coming years. With this pavilion, we ensure the neighborhood already has a place where cooperation and initiatives come together. Step by step, together with residents and partners, we are building a future-proof and livable district.

The pavilion will be the heart of Groots Gestel, providing space for various initiatives and activities related to livability. Think of activities organized by St. Blaarthem for residents, or information about the new construction plans and the HOV4. There will be moments when residents can ask questions about developments and respond to plans. There are also opportunities for consultation hours with various organizations, for example, in the areas of safety or health.

The temporary pavilion will initially stand for 5 years. The goal is to open the pavilion at the beginning of March.

Groots Gestel

Groots Gestel will change significantly in the coming years. The HOV4 line will run through this area, and 3500 to 6000 homes will be added in Groots Gestel.
