This plan concerns the continuity and innovative strength of entrepreneurs and property owners, the quality of life of residents, and the sustainable and inclusive development of the city of Eindhoven.
De Hurk is the largest industrial area in Eindhoven, located near the city center. De Hurk is a valuable work location for the Brainport region, with a unique mix of production, logistics, and manufacturing industry. The proximity of work and living offers opportunities for the city but also causes tensions. Residents experience nuisance in quality of life, while entrepreneurs and property owners need clarity to invest responsibly. Additionally, De Hurk faces major social challenges in the areas of economy, energy, climate, mobility, and space. Municipality, residents, and entrepreneurs therefore face the task of developing a future perspective in which livability, economic vitality, and sustainable development are balanced.
Entrepreneurs (foundation De Hurk Werkt!), residents (foundation Neighborhood Consultation ’t Ven and foundation Neighborhood Management Genderbeemd), and the municipality have concluded in discussions that the commonalities are greater than initially thought. They will therefore collaborate to achieve an ambitious Future Perspective De Hurk 2050 to ensure structural cooperation. They will ultimately translate this into an implementation agenda with milestones for the period 2030-2045.
