Mayor Jos Wienen temporarily closes hospitality business De Kelder on the Gedempte Oude Gracht for a period of 1 week. The business violated rules from the Hospitality Act. The closure takes effect on January 5, 2026.
At the end of November, a police officer observed that the acting manager of the hospitality business was under the influence of alcohol. This violates the hospitality sanction policy. This policy states that in such a case, the hospitality business is closed for 1 week without prior warning.
A manager is responsible for a safe and orderly evening. You cannot bear that responsibility if you are under the influence of alcohol, says Mayor Wienen.
