Stitching Stories, Thuisboerderij and Ten:07 Cycles have won the Haarlem Innovation Award 2025. The 3 winners received the prize on Friday, November 28 during a festive finale at the Koepel from Mayor Jos Wienen.
Haarlem aims to be a circular city by 2040, where raw materials are reused continuously and waste is minimized as much as possible. That is why this spring we asked residents and entrepreneurs in Haarlem to come up with ideas to make Haarlem more sustainable, healthier, or more innovative.
3 winners
A total of 40 ideas were submitted. The 8 best ideas were presented on Friday afternoon, November 28, 2025, at the Koepel. A professional jury led by Alderman Robbert Berkhout selected 3 winners from the 8 finalists:
- Stitching Stories, a circular and sustainable clothing brand by Carmen Luijt.
- Buurtboerderij Nieuweweg by Ruben Heineman, who wants to set up a home farm so that everyone can grow food at home with help and knowledge.
- Ten:07 Cycles, a modular child seat accessory designed for the cargo bike, by Daniel Ghirtoi and Raissa Ghirtoi.
The winners received €25,000, €20,000, and €15,000. With this, they can further develop their product or service and thus contribute to a sustainable city. In recent months, the (semi) finalists have received training and guidance to further develop their ideas.
