At the Haarlem sports gala on Monday evening, February 16, 2026, Roos de Jong (rowing) and Sebastiaan van Teeffelen (karate) were named sportswoman and sportsman of the year.
SportSupport Kennemerland organized the sports gala together with the Municipality of Haarlem at the PHIL. During this festive evening, the winning Haarlem athletes received a Pim Mulier trophy for their achievements over the past year. Mayor Jos Wienen opened the ceremony and alderman Eva de Raadt (Sports) presented one of the awards.
Talents
In addition to the awards for sportsman and sportswoman of the year, trophies were also presented to promising talents, the best sports team, and the best parasport athlete of the year. Vera Ubbink (gymnastics) and Morris Zwiers (judo) are the talents of this year. The softball players of Olympia Haarlem Ladies 1 received the award for best sports team. Seb Sloot (judo) was chosen as the best parasport athlete.
Coach
Not only top athletes and upcoming talents received awards. Mick van den Bree (water polo) received the award for best sports coach and Marco Dorgelo (HFC EDO) for volunteer of the year.
