On Tuesday, October 28, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we will organize another Initiative Café. This time at the invitation of Club Schalkwijk. The Initiative Café will take place in the central square of Schalkwijk Shopping Center, near HEMA.
During the Initiative Café, residents of Haarlem have the chance to present their ideas for the city. Visitors can come listen, ask questions, and help the initiators further.
Club Schalkwijk
Club Schalkwijk is a collaboration of various social organizations in Schalkwijk. Together, they ensure that the district remains a pleasant place to live and visit, even during times of significant development and renovation. They do this by organizing events and supporting initiators in the neighborhood.
A platform for good ideas
During the Initiative Café, plans will be presented for a more beautiful and social Haarlem. All themes and ideas are welcome: from activities around meeting, to sustainable projects. Initiators with the best plan will receive a cash prize to take the plan a step further.
Looking back
During the previous Initiative Café in March, Frank van Alphen was declared the winner with the initiative Fix your Bike. He received a encouragement prize of €5,000 to further develop his DIY bike repair workshop. Thomas le Gras and Niels van Weerdenburg also received much attention for their initiative Nelson’s Film, an open-air cinema where local residents and status holders can watch movies together.
