New Ideas for Haarlem

The Initiative Café is a meeting where ideas and engaged citizens come together. During this evening, residents present their ideas to make the city more beautiful, sustainable, and social. You will hear about plans for your neighborhood and the city. You can ask questions and help initiators with knowledge, experience, and contacts. Together, we take plans a step further.

Beautiful Examples

There are many beautiful examples of initiatives presented during previous meetings. Such as TommyTomato, who provide warm, healthy lunches at primary schools. And Fix your Bike, where residents of Haarlem can come to repair their bikes with the help of volunteers. Also, the deposit bin, a separate bin for empty bottles and cans, is an example of an initiative to make the city more beautiful, sustainable, and social. Because of this, someone who wants to return bottles and cans for the deposit does not have to take them out of the trash.

Encouragement Prize

During the Initiative Café on March 24, initiators have a chance to win an encouragement prize. A total amount of €6,000 will be distributed among the best plans. 

Program

The meeting takes place during the Week of the Circular Economy at Verhalentrefpunt De Volharding at Paul Krugerkade 47. The program starts at 5:00 PM with short presentations by initiators. At 6:00 PM, the networking reception begins.

And maybe you will present your idea during a next edition of the Initiative Café.
