From January 6, 2026, you can visit without an appointment every weekday between 9:00 and 11:00 to apply for a passport, drivers license, or extract.
The waiting time to make an appointment is currently long. This is partly due to staff shortages at the Civil Affairs department. To reduce the pressure, we have open walk-in hours starting January 6. You can then apply for a passport, drivers license, or extract without an appointment every weekday from 9:00 to 11:00 in the public hall.
The open walk-in hours are also for people moving to the Netherlands. They must register with the municipality within 5 days.

The open walk-in hours are available all year round. Coming without an appointment may mean you have to wait before it is your turn.
