On January 1, 2026, NMCX, Center for Sustainability received a new name and a new look. The foundation is now called Center for Sustainability Haarlemmermeer.
NMCX, Center for Sustainability is the knowledge and information center for sustainability in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. The foundation, established in 2008, was originally called Nature and Environment Center Kruisdorp (X), referring to the original name of Hoofddorp. The full name was often abbreviated to NMCX, which caused some confusion. The letters were often mixed up, making the foundation harder to find. Moreover, the foundation focuses on the entire municipality and not just Hoofddorp. With the new name, the foundation hopes to communicate clearly about who they are.
Friendly colors
A new name comes with a new logo and a new corporate identity. Over the past five years, Center for Sustainability has adjusted its colors from bright blue and yellow to green and blue, to better match the foundations various campaigns; from biodiversity and climate resilience to the Energy Desk. This trend continues in the new corporate identity. The new look uses the colors soft green and blue, and bright orange. This makes volunteers stand out well during public actions.
