Recently, everyone could submit an idea for the roof edge of the new town hall. A total of 126 ideas were submitted. The jury selected two ideas from all submissions. There is also an existing idea. Now it’s your turn. You can vote for one of the three ideas. Voting is open until January 30, 2026.
At Raadhuisplein, the new town hall of and for Haarlemmermeer will be located. It is the central place where residents, entrepreneurs, government, municipal council, and employees can meet. The municipal council of Haarlemmermeer finds it important that the design of the roof edge of the new town hall is widely supported by the residents of Haarlemmermeer. Therefore, the council decided that everyone can submit an idea for the roof edge. Residents of Haarlemmermeer can now vote for their favorite idea. Go to the website and cast your vote!
Which idea will be on the roof edge?
A jury chose two ideas from all submissions. The jury consisted of the mayor, the building’s architect, a member of the youth municipal council, and four municipal council members (two from the coalition and two from the opposition). There is also an existing idea. Residents of Haarlemmermeer can vote on one of the three ideas: the top 2 submissions and the existing idea. Voting is open from January 12, 2026, until January 30, 2026. The idea with the most votes will be on the roof edge of the new town hall.
On to the highest point
The construction of the new town hall is on schedule. The highest point will be reached this month. The new town hall is expected to open mid-2028.
