The Municipality of Haarlemmermeer and the Development Combination Post van Krayenhoff signed agreements on Monday, January 12, to develop the first sub-area of Post van Krayenhoff in Cruquius. This agreement clears the way for the construction of 75 homes on the land depot at Bennebroekerdijk. This marks the start of the transformation of Cruquius.
In the coming years, the industrial areas along Bennebroekerdijk and the Dura Vermeer site on Spaarneweg in Cruquius will be transformed into a new residential area. Approximately 1,000 homes and facilities such as a primary school, childcare, and possibly a supermarket will be built on these industrial sites.
Good news
Alderman Beryl van Straten (Housing): This step is good news for Cruquius. A lot will change in the coming years. Besides the arrival of 1000 homes, Cruquius will become a complete village with facilities and good accessibility. We will also restore the former fort into a park.
For the future
The Development Combination Post van Krayenhoff is also pleased: With the signing of the agreement, an important step has been taken towards our goal: leaving something beautiful for the future!
Two years
The agreement includes arrangements about further elaboration of the plans, formal procedures, and planning. After completing procedures and public consultation, construction is expected to start in two years.
