From today, the exhibition A Piece of Me is on display in the hall of the town hall at Oldehoofsterkerkhof. The exhibition features multiple photos of seriously ill children who will not recover. Each photo is accompanied by a story.
The exhibition is an initiative of the Knowledge Center for Pediatric Palliative Care. With this mobile exhibition traveling through various municipalities in the Netherlands, they raise awareness for families in this situation.
Parents try everything to keep everyday life running. This only succeeds with support from professionals and care that is well organized nearby. That is what pediatric palliative care is about. Support that lets a seriously ill child just be a child. And helps the family to keep functioning.
