The neighborhood network Limmel, student association Amphitryon, the Hotel Management School Maastricht (HMSM), and the municipality of Maastricht have signed the neighborhood covenant Limmel. It has been agreed to work concretely together for a safe, pleasant, and connected neighborhood.

The covenant contains clear agreements on communication, cooperation, and livability. The partners agreed to meet annually to discuss signals and reports from the neighborhood, and students are actively involved in the community. Initiatives like the Boostcamp, where new students and residents engage in conversation, work towards mutual understanding and involvement.

Concrete Agreements

The covenant lays down a number of concrete agreements, including:

  • Active cooperation: partners agree to consult structurally and share signals and reports to respond quickly to problems.
  • Student involvement: HMSM and Amphitryon involve students in livability initiatives and actively disseminate the Neighborhood Protocol Limmel.
  • Neighborhood as a hub: The neighborhood network plays a connecting role and ensures communication with residents.
  • Enforcement and support: The municipality encourages reports of nuisance and addresses signals within legal frameworks.

“Limmel is a dynamic neighborhood with many engaged residents, students, and entrepreneurs,” says Mayor Wim Hillenaar. “This covenant shows that everyone wants to contribute to a livable, safe, and pleasant environment for all.”

Representatives of the neighborhood council Limmel, Amphitryon, the municipality of Maastricht, and Maastricht School of Management sign the covenant.
