In 2026, we celebrate the Maastricht Year together: a year full of new encounters, old stories, and surprising activities. Everyone can contribute!
Do you have an idea that brings the history of your street, neighborhood, or district to life? Do you want to bring people – newcomers and familiar faces alike – together in a special way? Then sign up for the Neighborhood Programming Subsidy Scheme – Maastricht Year 2026 and receive up to 1,500 euros subsidy for your initiative.
What are we looking for?
Activities that:
- stimulate cooperation and encounters – between organizers, visitors, and the neighborhood
- tell a piece of neighborhood or city history
- are free and publicly accessible
- take place in Maastricht in 2026
- are carried out without profit motive.
Both new and existing activities qualify. From neighborhood walks to block parties, cooking together, sharing stories and traditions, making theater or singing together, or other meeting projects: all initiatives that connect people and have a link to history are welcome.
