On Thursday, November 13, we are organizing another action day against cybercrime together with the police and various partners. From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, you can visit the Markt for free tips and help to better secure your digital life.

During the action day, neighborhood officers, cyber experts from the police, students from VISTA College, and municipal employees will help residents better protect their devices and accounts. An important focus is setting up two-factor authentication on your phone or tablet. This is an extra security layer, making you better protected against hacking.

Besides information and help, there is also room for a friendly chat. The barista with a coffee cart provides a warm cup of coffee while visitors learn how to prevent bank helpdesk fraud and data leaks.

Last year, the action day was a great success thanks to the efforts of our partners and the enthusiastic responses from passersby, says Mayor Hillenaar. We hope to raise awareness among even more people this year about how to protect themselves online.

The action day is a collaboration between the police, the RIEC, the promotion office, VISTA College, and the Municipality of Maastricht.
