On Thursday, November 13, the Municipality of Maastricht, the police, and various partners are organizing another action day against cybercrime. From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, residents can visit the Market for free tips and assistance to better secure their digital lives.

During the action day, neighborhood officers, cyber experts from the police, students from VISTA College, and municipal employees will help residents better protect their devices and accounts. A key focus is setting up two-factor authentication: a simple step that can prevent much digital trouble.

Besides information and assistance, there is also room for a friendly chat. The barista with a coffee cart provides a warm cup of coffee while visitors learn how to prevent bank helpdesk fraud and data leaks.

“Last year, the action day was a great success thanks to the efforts of our partners and the enthusiastic responses from passersby,” says Mayor Hillenaar. “We hope to raise awareness among even more people this year about how to protect themselves online.”

The action day is a collaboration between the police, the RIEC, the promotion office, VISTA College, and the Municipality of Maastricht.
