Sometimes people are forced to have sex, to perform criminal tasks, or to work under very poor conditions. On Thursday, October 16, you can see with your own eyes how these forms of exploitation look in a container at the Market in Maastricht. We raise your awareness of this subject. And we teach you to recognize signs of exploitation. Together we will fight against exploitation and help victims. 

 

How does it work?

In the container, there are 3 rooms. You will recognize a living room or bedroom. Each room highlights a different form of exploitation and shows what to look for to recognize exploitation. During your visit to the rooms, you will receive explanations. You will learn, among other things:

  • what it looks like when people are exploited at work. 
  • what the signs of sexual exploitation are; of sex under duress.
  • how young people and adults can become involved in criminal activities sometimes without realizing it.

  • on Saturday, October 18, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Bongerd, Heerlen

Report exploitation

Victims of exploitation are often abused and are therefore too afraid or unable to report it themselves. Recognize the signs of exploitation and report suspicions.
