Maastricht receives 26 million euros from the national government for housing construction and improved roads and cycling routes. This was announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management on November 10. With this funding, we can build new homes faster and ensure sustainable mobility in and around the city.
Strong cooperation in Limburg
The contribution is not only good news for Maastricht but also for other Limburg municipalities and the province. Within the Limburg Centraal plan, more than 75 million euros have been allocated to projects in our region. This result is the outcome of strong cooperation and joint efforts by several Limburg municipalities and the province.
5 projects in Maastricht
With the 26 million euros, Maastricht is carrying out 5 important projects:
- extension of the Maasboulevard
- a new pedestrian and cycling bridge over the Maas
- a better connection between Maastricht station and the Groene Loper
- extension of the Groene Loper to the Health Campus
- a cycling street between the station and the Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus
Investing in the future
Together we invest in a city where living, working, and traveling go well together. This way, we build a future-proof city and region with better quality of life and sustainable growth.
