The triangle of the mayor, Public Prosecution Service, and police has decided as an urgent measure to designate Malberg and adjacent neighborhoods as a security risk area. This allows for preventive searches. An extra camera will also be installed.
The measures are being taken due to the ongoing unrest in the neighborhood caused by groups of young people.
Mayor Wim Hillenaar: “This nuisance must stop. We were already preparing group bans, but the events of the past few days call for even stronger measures. Residents are seriously concerned, and we must protect them. Together with the police and the Public Prosecution Service, we are doing everything we can to restore peace in the neighborhood.”
No further announcements are being made regarding possible other visible and invisible measures now and in the future.
