Did you know that the municipality of Maastricht, in collaboration with the bicycle platform Posifiets has a special bicycle theft prevention team? These staff members can often be found on the streets. They provide tips on safely parking and locking your bike.
What does the prevention team do?
- They point out safe parking spots in the city.
- They show you how to properly lock your bike – with a chain lock through the frame and front wheel.
- They answer questions and provide advice directly on the street.
Why is this important?
A well-parked and locked bike is much less attractive to thieves. Together, we make Maastricht safer for cyclists.
