The construction of the new Multifunctional Center (MFC) Wanmolen is getting closer. The municipality has provisionally awarded the construction to contractor Van der Horst B.V. from Mill.
Smart Plans and Sustainable Choices
The tender started in December 2024 and has now led to a provisional choice. A total of three contractors submitted bids that were evaluated on price and quality. Van der Horst came out on top. Their bid of 9 million euros (excluding VAT) is slightly below the available budget.
What makes this contractor particularly interesting is their focus on sustainability.
Councilor Wijnte Hol: “There is a beautiful design that users and the architect have worked hard on together. With Van der Horst, we are bringing in an experienced builder who takes sustainability seriously. For instance, 40% of the construction costs will be sourced from parties within 50 km of Zetten. Good for the environment and the regional economy.”
