The primary school Van Lingenschool on Kerkstraat in Zetten is being renewed. The building is nearly 50 years old and no longer meets modern standards. This is why the municipal executive has decided to renovate the Van Lingenschool. As of October 1, 2024, the school had 126 students. The municipal council still needs to decide on the executives proposal.

Suitable education in ones own village

By renovating the school building, space will be created. The board of Van Lingenschool intends to use this space for suitable education. The primary schools in Zetten currently only offer regular education, with basic and extra support for students who need it. Students requiring more intensive support are dependent on schools that are located further away. Currently, almost 8% of children in Zetten receive education outside their own village. The plan for suitable education aligns with the ambition of the government that children and young people have access to education close to home. This is good for their well-being and social development. This helps prevent placement in special education and student transportation.
